Gold Valley, Storm, 2011. Death Valley National Park, CA
I made this photograph during an oncoming storm on the road to Gold Valley. Because it was just starting to drizzle lightly, I used a digital SLR to capture this image in RAW format and later converted it to black and white using Nik Silver Effex Pro and Photoshop CS5. A substantial amount of contrast control was done locally in various areas of the image to achieve a good overall balance of values.
